Make money writing as a beginning writer: write articles

Can YOU write Web articles?

If you have any writing skills at all, you can write articles. Web articles are very different from articles written for print publications, and they’re much easier to write.

If you read Web articles, you’ll discover that they have certain attributes.  They’re easy to read, they’re relatively short when compared to print articles, and they contain links.

So if you’re in the same position as a lot of people, and need to earn extra money, consider writing web articles.

I received several questions about writing for money yesterday, and the gist of what I said boiled down to this: write Web articles for money.

You won't make much money in the beginning, but you will get something which is beyond price, and that's experience.

Google is forever: yes indeed

Many of Facebook’s users are still in high school. Some are even younger than that (it isn’t hard to lie about your age on the Internet). And many of these people simply don’t understand that Google is forever. Just look at Facebook’s Vanity URLs for proof: Facebook made it very clear that these are permanent, which means that you’re going to be stuck with the same username five or ten years down the line. Yet there are still countless users grabbing names like ‘drunkdude’. That’s going to look great when your boss tries to add you as a friend.

Beware of the nicknames you use. And if you do business on the Web, don't use any: use your own name.

Your Writers’ Web Site: end the excuses — Angela Booth's Fab Freelance Writing Blog

If had a dollar for every writer who’s whined to me that they “haven’t got time to create a Web site”, I’d have enough money to kick back in Noosa and spend my life writing mystery novels.

Do you really believe that you don’t have time to create your own site?

Give Posterous a try. To set up your own site, JUST send ONE email message. That’s all. That’s it — you’re done.

Go on -- create your own Posterous site. And send me the link, too. :-)
